Default Are macaws able to Whistle?

Ruby seems mesmerized when I whistle. Do you think she will be able to learn? Gipper (tag) loved to whistle.

If she wants to. Frankie can wolf whistle quite well. Peabodi can also whistle. Of course, Nonami is the best whistler. She's learning the Andy Griffith song right now. :-)

Ruby is so sweet and beautiful, she doesn't need to whistle! I think Frankie is just a little smitten...

Phyllis, omg, Jasper is in the process of learning the same song. Imagine that. Tabious doesn't whistle. Maybe he will eventually.

Its too cute how they learn. Nonami whistles one part here and later she'll try another part. She seems to love it when i fill in the gaps for her. :-)

It was funny because when he heard the theme song he went completely still and didn't move. His eyes were pierced at my husband. Now he sings part of it also. And we both sing the other part, or my husband will play it on the computer to him.

I don't think I've ever heard one of my macaws whistle, although the conures do it all the time. That's ok, though--the 'caws are plenty vocal enough w/out adding whistles to their vocabulary :-).
