Thanks sweetheart! Comments don't bother me a bit. That poor bird being chained by his little leg does. I have never seen anything like it in my life! They probably chain their kids too. In fact, I decided last night that clipping Ruby is a form of "chaining" her so guess who is going have her wings grow in. Something good will come from that poor little bird. Do ya'll think they chain her all the time? Wish we could find them take a pair of wire clippers with us!

Yep, you are right. The message probably won't reach that owner. But hopefully noone will follow that person's example.

Thanks,

If you are making that choice, make certain that you take in consideration the changes you will need to make with Ruby fully flighted. Either recall training, harness training, or no going outside. It is a valid choice, many bird lovers on here have fully flighted birds and can give lots of advice.

Thanks dear! She already will come (walk) to me from whereever, but we will practice alot before. She doesn't mind a harness, so I am thinking I will make a "light" one like Shanlung uses, just in case. Are your birds flighted?

No, Ollie is clipped but harness trained. I live in a city but have a lot of hawks in the area. However, it was really the experience of having a cockatiel knock itself into convulsions after taking a wrong turn and speeding into a window that convinced me to clip. Sweet little cockatiel did survive after a week stay at the vet's. If I ever live somewhere with enough land, I would love to build a huge outdoor aviary and then stop clipping.

Awww! Poor baby! Poor you! Must have scared you to death! I'll be very careful with my Ruby. Going to the vet next week and I thought I would talk it over with him.

What is the matter with some people don't they know they are doing damage to that pooe birds mind. I'd so like to put a 200 pound ball and chain around their ankle see if the like it for the rest of their lives.
