I have always thought that my male and female Scarlets Mischief and Chaos looked different, but then thought maybe I felt that way because I knew their sexes from when they were still little fur balls.

Hi, thanks for posting those beautiful pics of your Scarlet, he is awesome. We have a scarlet, Lovebug, and she will pic and pinch our hand or arm while sitting with us, she does it for attention I think, it's her way of saying let's play. I put her back on her perch after saying "No pinch" and because she doesn't like that response and she is better now. I think that Scarlet's have nipping moods so I don't pick her up when I sense that mood.

Scarlets, mine included, are the kings of the pinch. It seems that they just love getting the smallest bit if flesh and applying pressure. Tarot my scarlet doesn't do it much anymore (she is now over 2 years old) and I think it is because I simply do not react to it. Now we do have rough play sessions where she will bite a little, but she never gets out of control.

Thumbs up

Your Scarlett is One very large and beautiful Bird, And I can merely surmise what a "nip" or Bite or what " beaky " feels like coming from Her... We can talk together whenever You wish regarding Scarlett behavior, as I, Also, am LEARNING to reside with such an intense Creature. You, like ME, are BORING!!! You need to be able to be Magician, Clown, Creator... inventive, suspenseful, unconventional, BRAVE, and, most of all... consistently unpredictable !!!
I mean it,
Lucas
P.S. Perhaps We may place You in Our Friends category.
