Default Scissor Beak Pics

Well my new boy is home tonight.Right now I'm not 100% sure what I'm even going to try with his beak.He has some really long nails too,but I figured on his first night I would just get him settled in.Without furthur mumbo jumbo from me,here he is:

Oh boy that is one very long crooked beak. I can't tell for sure from the pictures but it looks to me like it's more long than crooked right now. Trimming and shaping should help this guy a lot.

I have read more than once and have been told by my AV that excessive long nails and beaks are signs of poor diet (or the bird is not assimilating a good diet) and/or liver problems. Along with offering a good diet you may want to try a course of cleansing with some Aloe Detox.

Michelle, I agree with Karen on the diet and using detox. I think your vet will be able to trim the beak quite a bit but it may take several sessions at his office.

Good luck, you have a very nice bird, thank you for taking him in.

Michelle - he is gorgeous! I am so thankful you have him now! Best of luck with that beak. I bet the vet can fix him right up. Poor dear! You are a good egg! As Angie would say "a FABERGE egg!"

Wow.....I don't even know what to say. That poor guy. Thank you for helping him. I wish you all the luck in the world getting that beak sorted out. Please keep us updated as the story progesses...I am quite interested in this topic.
