Thank you Michelle, I have always wondered if it was alright to freeze them. Makes sense that it's better to freeze them. You wouldn't want any humidity during storage.

That is great information. Does anyone know what the shelf life of shelled and unshelled nuts is? I think we usually eat all the nuts in a bag within 2-3 months. Is that fine or should I freeze half the bag?

Sherry, I seem to recall that unshelled nuts are good for a year when frozen and shelled nuts are good for about 3 months. I've been refrigerating my shelled nuts just to be certain they don't go rancid.
