Default Let's give our best vet stories

I'll go first.

When our "daughter" (boston terrier named Lassie) was 16 she had gone blind and didn't even seem to know us. She would just stand with her little flat nose in the corner. It was time. SO... knowing how nervous she was at the vet's office they came to our home to "do it". Well, when "it" was done, I took to wailing, my hubby was holding her and crying too. The sweet part was, my vet and the assistant were also crying. Now that's a caring vet.

Now ya'll tell.

Hmmmmm, I only have few, but here's one.
Not long after we got Riley (Noble Macaw), I was sitting on the sofa giving him some scritches and going through the mail. He was messing with the zipper on my sweater and after a few minutes, he gives a squawk. I look down, and the metal stop from my zipper was on his lower mandible. He looked like he had a silver tooth. So I get the needle nose pliers and I'm trying to get it off, but it was STTTTUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK. I call the vet and he tells me to bring him on in and he'll meet me at his office. Well, when we got there, he takes a look at Riley and tried real hard not to give a snicker, but it really was funny. He got his pliers out and after a few minutes of prying, it came off and dang if Riley didn't grab it back and put it back on there. Fortunately, it wasn't stuck this time, so we got it back off and the Doc dropped it in the garbage can before Mr. Riley Bling Bling could get it back again. It did leave him with a small surface crack on his beak, but it sure didn't stop him from eating. I still have to watch him around zippers.

Went to at that time my new vet w/Queenie, the not so user friendly M2 for the "spa t(x)"...wings,nails, and general check up. Dr. G actually picked her up....(jealous and mouth dropping amazement!!!!) held her very gently and whispered to her constantly...It took her 45+ mins and I am sure blew her sched to .... but she clipped her, no towel......It still makes me cry to remember. When we got home Queenie and I had a breakthru and monumental Momma-Birdie day.....It still ranks in my mental scrapbook as one of my best days ever...Sniveling now...

Sounds like Riley is a close relative of metal mouth Ruby

I've had a few that got snuggly after Vet appts too like Queenie, makes you want to take them more often.
