Default Blood work not good

Could not understand everything the vet said,so she is gonna send me all the info on Wilburs blood work, the things i could somewhat understand was, possible heavy metal damage, high white blood count, low cell of amunity, red blood cells 38 %,liver protein low, calcium high, potassium low, tissue damage.
I dont understand how she can be sick like this, she gets a great diet, with the organic herb salad, acv.
I also dont what know to do about the bill that may happen if she does not improve,i asked the vet about how much more it will be if she doesnt inprove,it could be up to $370.00.Includes,xrays,more blood work, ect.
I already owe my guy $260.00 from Saturdays visit.
I wasnt in this position when i got my birds,he used to be able to pay for everything.Im on SSI,for a few different disabilties.
Please guys, have Wilbur in your thoughts and hope she gets well with the meds..

Angie, once you get the reports from the vet ask what holistic medications you can give Wilbur to help him improve. Once we see the report we may be able to help you also. You can start helping Wilbur by purchasing some aloe detox, milk thistle w/o alcohol and dandelion without alcohol. I have seen these herbs work wonders with several birds.

Hug Wilbur for us.

Awwww Wilbur! You have got to get better! Sounds like what Ruby had. She got the metal from the toothbrushes I was giving her to play with. They gave her chelated therapy and did lots of w-rays to check if the metal was passing. She is fine now. Give Wilbur beakie kisses from us!

I hope its not the metal poisoning, but what else would cause tissue damage, would an infection cause that?
She doesnt chew on chains or quick links and bells. She doesnt chew on her cage.
The only i can thin kof is on her cage, there is a bar that goes up and she sits up there, its high her head can almost touch the cieling.
But i believe its powder coated cage,so it shouldnt be poisonous.

Jessalyn, did your Rudy have watery poops and did her after big morning poop
have a smell to it?
And about that chelated therapy ,did they have to keep your baby at the vets to do that?
Im very happy to hear that your baby is fine now!!!!

Hi Angie,

If Wilbur were one of mine and I thought he might have metal poisoning I would read the linked article about the Cockatoo with possible metal poisoning. We use slippery elm and aloe-detox here all the time.

HolisticBird and HolisticBirds

Check around and make sure he only metal your bird mouthes is stainless steel.

I will read that!!!Thank you
But im thinking, why would Wilbur get alot better from the baytril,if it were metal poisoning,i would think the antibiotic would not make her better.
Her big morning poop did not smell this morning.

Hi! Yes, she had watery poops, but none had a smell to it. Of course I knew she wasn't "right" and didn't have time to smell the poop. I was hurrying off to the vet! ha! I didn't want to leave her there by herself so I sat in a darkened room there they gave us and held her all day. They gave her a shot first thing of I don't remember what and then they re-x-rayed her before we were able to go home. I brought her back in 2 days for more x-rays. So, to finally answer your question, I think they would have kept her but I didn't want to leave her there by herself. The chelated therapy was just a liquid medicene that I gave her by mouth. She was also throwing up alot. But, after that first shot she didn't throw up any more. Wish I could remember what that was. I will go and look back in her records. Hang in there!
