Default Couple of questions

I used to use a swiffer wet jet on my kitchen floor, but the last time I went to get refills, they all had Febreeze in it. Is Febreeze still dangerous to birds or has the formula changed so that it is safe? I guess my old mop finally found a way to win me back.....
My other question is this:
I'm looking to get a new ceramic top range. I know I can't use the self cleaning feature and I need to burn it out before bringing it in the house, but is the convection part of the oven ok around the birds?

i don't know if febreeze is still toxic or not, but i just don't risk it.

i have the swiffer wet jet too. they still make a formula without febreeze in it. i get it at publix. maybe try checking around at different stores or order online.

the ceramic top range is the glass top, right? i have one of those and have never used the self cleaning feature. i've been cooking in it with no problems with my birds since we moved here in 2005.

Thanks, Emily. I looked at our publix, but all they had was the one's with febreeze. Maybe they were just out of regular. I'll check Wallyworld.
Everything I'm hearing about my potential new range is good, so I think I'm good to go!
YAY!!!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is harmful to the birds. I don't use it.

I love my Swiffer Wet Jet for quick cleanup. I cut a flap into the top of the plastic bottle and add my own safe mixture to spray on the floor. Cover the top of the plastic bottle where you cut it open with Duct tape so the solution doesn't spill out when you're mopping. Not pretty, but it works fantastic and I have no worries what might be in their cleaning solution mixture.

I found this on Snopes, but I found a lot of commentary both ways on the internet. I think I am going to err to the side caution. Its just not worth it to me to test it on my birdies. My birdroom has 2 doors leading into the kitchen and greatroom. They would probably be fine, but that little uncertainty is enough to make me decide to use something else to mop my floors in the kitchen. Thanks for the answers on the convection oven. You guys and gals are the BEST!!!

Karen, putting my own solution in the last empty bottle of old stuff has crossed my mind. I think I will give it a try. I know Mr Clean works great and doesn't seem to bother the birdies.
