Default Not in their diet?

Is there any foods your birds don't get because you don't like them? Like I mentioned below, my birds don't get oranges or anything similar because I just can't peel them. I know it's weird, but the feel of orange skin makes my skin crawl.

Have you tried the Clementines, they peel real easy and fast! We've been buying things for the birds, would have never tried other wise, now I love the pomegranates!

Not that I can think of, Michelle. However, we don't feed our dogs a raw diet because I can't stand the smell of raw meat. It makes me gag--or worse.

Does that count? *grins*

one of the few things that I keep just for them are brussell sprouts.....on sale now, 1/day. it acts great as a baseball for when you want out & can't get to the bell because someone is on night shift....and is a great frustration outlet because it goes away quickly!!!!! unlike some of their other toys

Oh! try Clementines! They are the best. I hate oranges but can overdose eating Clementines. Peeling the skin off is totally different than an orange.

Michelle your question made me laugh as it brought back an old memory. My daughters announced to my Mother-in-Law (of all people) that they didn't know what BEETS were when she asked if they would like some when they were 5 years old!

My birds don't get Beets!

Mine don't either, because I can still remember all the hours my Mom made me and my sister sit at the table because we wouldn't eat ours.

I'll have to try the Clementines. If nothing else Jace can peel them

Ollie loves clementines, so I can definitely recommend them.

A stupid question, if you don't like to peel them, could you just take a knife and slice them into wedges and give them to them with the peel still attached? After a proper scrub down of course. I was just wondering if there is a reason to not give them the orange peel? I often see seed mixes that will have dried orange slices in them and they include the orange peel.
