Christmas came late....

But when it got here, it was spectacular!

My friend, Cynthia, delivered it to me yesterday.

If you know Cynthia (Many Feathers), you can probably guess what my present was :-).



Yep, that's right! This adorable little boy (he still needs a name) was born on Sept. 8th. He's probably a Camelot, but she's not 100% sure that his Catalina daddy doesn't have some GW in him, so he may be something else.... Anyway, he was a gift to me because he came the closest to looking like one of her birds that I love (her name is Flame). She had a bumper crop of babies this year (5--highly unusual and not planned), and although she's keeping the rest of them, she gave this baby to me. How's that for a true friend?

Here are some more pix of him. He is THE most loving little boy, and he especially loves The Mama (that's me :-). It's hard to get pix of him because he doesn't tend to stay anywhere, and usually flies to me within moments of being placed on a perch. Just look at that fluffy head!

So now he needs a name. She called him Mr. Frisky. I want to give him an Irish name, but if I don't find one I think fits him soon, he may just be "Baby" or "Little Boy" :-).

Oh my gosh is he ever adorable!!!! That is a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend!!!! I think his name should be Michelle's Bird Hey a girl can try can't she Or you could give him my maiden name of Kelley(or another spelling of it) in Irish it means bright headed.

Kelley would be an excellent name for such a colorful baby---if it didn't sound so much like "Ceilidh".

Ditto "Ronan", which I like, sounds too much like "Rowan". Or "Arthur", except I already have one of those :-).

I'll find something. Keep bringin' on the suggestions, though!

Oh Christie, he is just beautiful!!! His baby face is so sweet, how old is he?

He was born on September 8th. That makes him 4 months old.

Cynthia has lots of friends. Just not very many that she entrusts her darlings to :-). She truly lives for her birds, and loves each individual dearly. Each baby is raised with so much love that it's hard to describe. I think it is VERY difficult for her to give one of them up, and on the rare occasion when she does, it seems almost always to be someone local. For her, it's much like giving up a child. That's one reason I feel so honored to have been trusted enough to have 2 birds from her--Kenobi being the other one.

He is absolutely adorable. You can definitely see some Greenwing in there. That's a GW chest and tail for sure. Maybe you could name him Deaglán (m) DEG lawn Declan; Declán Meaning: full of goodness?

Look, look, look at that beautiful baby face. All I can say is so handsome. I love when they are loving and mushy. Congrats on your new edition. That was extremely very nice of your friend to give you this baby. You can definitely say that she 100% trusts you. Congrats again. Please keep us updated on his progress. Would love to hear it.

my fingers are just ITCHING to give him little scritches all over his head. such a cutie!!!!! I just LOVE their baby faces and that innocent "love me all over" personality. congratulations and enjoy every second with him!
