Peachie(M2) loves wood and braided rope stuffed w/wood, pinata's, and leather...lots of leather. Serita's favorite is leather chews, not so much wood but she loves those little gumball wood cutouts w/little wooden balls attatched w/rope--done in approx 5 mins....can yu get volume discounts anywhere???Queenie(m2) loves to chew her phone books and some pinatas or "soft" paper toys. she does paper roll pinatas, cups w/stuff, not so much wood. Christal(hy) does some wood, suprisingly small to med sized, she LOVES those metal closures...will ignore the most temmpting items to go for the attatchment to the perch....ARGH! scary...i have yet to figure out the safe way to get something away from her when she doesn't want to give it upid I mention the pipe bells.....quite the chorus when they all go for them!! Had to take them away when part of the house is on night shift.

If you have a picture that would be great
As Michelle mentioned, I have the pipe bells. I only use the large stainless steel ones cuz' my crew will quickly chip the powder coating off of a powder coated one.
Large Stainless Steel Pipe Bell

As a side note...I have had good luck with the stainless pipe bells as far as holding up to the rough play of macaws and their beaks and the clanger has stayed intact.
'Except' for my greenwing Boo who seems to always find a way to destroy everything. He not only ripped the clanger out of one of the pipe bells but also managed to rip the welded chain piece out of the top of the bell as well.

I have always wanted a 'better bell' so I'm working on my own version, in stainless steel of course. As soon as I finish the trial versions and test them out with my greenwings, and 'if' they pass my 'greenwing durability test', then I will let you know in case any of you might want one or more of them too. I have so many Caw's that I have to go into production mode for everything I make, so making more of them at that time wouldn't be a big deal..

Thanks James, I sure would appreciate that...I am very aprehensive in giving Monty a bell again.....he got one stuck in his lower beak about 2 years ago and just about gave me a stroke..LOL..let me be more specific...it was the little metal thing in the middle, that he managed to distroy and chomped down and wulla...

..I had to hold on tight and pull down just to get it out....it was the scareiest thing I have ever encountered...

Sherman(CAG) loves to shred toys so she gets lots of chew apart toys. Higgins and Baxter also love their Binkies they swing back and forth saying wheeeeeee!! Darwin(SM) loves his swing and bottlebrush chunks on Hangin Round ss rods. Barney know longer has his Binkie as he can untie the knots and they all end up at the bottom of his cage for me to wash and put back on for the whole process to start again. He now has a hoop that he can't untie.(Bummer for him--yeah for me!) Shermie aka Sherman loves to play music on her music box it's the Beach Boys right now. I work hard keeping up with the playing and cleaning up wood chips! LOL
Can you describe a Beast toy and what you refill it with? Always looking for new toys for Ollie!

Thanks,
Sherry

Yeah, after seeing my little YCM easily chew the clapper out of standard bells and crush the bell itself, I have never had anything but a pipe bell since. Thus far I have never had a problem with a pipe bell. I also get the stainless now, because Ollie can chip the powder coat off. Just make sure the pipe bell is deep, I have seen some that I would consider too shallow or too wide, if the bird can reach the clapper, then it is not a good bell.

That was my thoughts too...but I have had several people tell me that their birds were having a blast with the bigger sized bells that they could put their head up into and make noise, along with being able to play with the clapper. The birds they were talking about were 'not' large macaws though.

So I'm experimenting with a bigger sized bell and with a clapper that can't be removed by a large macaw.

I have the prototype almost done and will be testing it out with my destroy everything greenwing pair here shortly.
