The birds don't seem to mind although jealousies do raise their nasty heads on occasion, be aware that the work that adding one more macaw to your house does not doublt the work, it makes about four times as much work. The amount of food that you have to provide gets larger and more expensive, the mess that two make are four times the amount that one makes and it seems that the vet bills get four times as high.

I added new birds a few years ago. My 2nd bird was an "awwww....come to mama" purchase and hopeful that my standoffish too would see the attention that you get when you act nice and extend yourself. This worked to some extent w/the too, but Serita, no words to describe...just a beautiful light. I added 2 more a little later and there have been jealousy issues, but nothing awful. Everyone has separate play spaces, they don't play well with each other and the few times that someone has done the unauthorized TDY to someone else's space, it requires intervention. The quarantine was a tad complicated, but I put the newbies in a back bedroom for 3mos, vet visits, yadda yadda....and everyone today is moderately happy. It is just important that everyone have a similar amount of out of the cage time and direct mama time. Hopefully the current home will work out, but with good planning the possible new addition should work out fine.

Over here, all has gone well. Perchance We have just been Lucky.
We DON'T KNOW whether Our Fids would be alright w/each Other, because WE'RE afraid of what might occur ( although the few times They've gotten close together, it's been no big deal, lol ) We simply fear injury, Vet bills, an upset "Parrot-Dice" !!!

With 10 macaws (so far :-) living here, they seem to be fine as a flock and accepting of a new member. That doesn't always mean individuals will get along well one-on-one, but like any group of creatures who tend to live near each other, there will be personality differences. Other than watching face-to-face interactions closely to learn who can play safely with whom and who has to enjoy another flock member from a distance, it's been my experience that macaws benefit from having others of their kind within sight and sound of each other so that they can interact.
