My Christmas 2003

In 2003 about this time of year John called and said him and his friend Chris were going Christmas shopping and wanted to know how much he could get out of the bank, I told him and told him he didn't need to spend near that much. So off they went and I just hung out at home. One of our drivers showed up to get paid and I asked him if he knew what John was going to get me. He said he did and he had a clue for me. See I have never opened a surprise gift on Christmas. I always con people into telling me what others got me and with John I either snoop and find the gift or receipts or just con him into me getting my gift early So this particular year they were ready, my gift would not be brought home and all of our friends and employees had a clue to give me everyday. Rick's clue was I would need a hula skirt. That left me puzzled, so I went snooping. I found a slip of paper in John's truck with a phone number on it. I got on line and did a reverse look up of the number and figured out it was in a residential area. That with Rick's clue left me thinking I was getting a tanning bed, boy was I disappointed. So I went to John and told him I had it figured out. While I was telling him the disappoint got to me and I started to cry. He asked why and I told him I didn't want a tanning bed I wanted a Macaw for Christmas. That did it he couldn't take the tears and told me he would tell me if I didn't admit to anyone he gave in and I wasn't allowed to see it until Christmas Eve when planned. I agreed and that is when he told me he got me a GW for Christmas. I was very excited, but bummed I couldn't see her and thought it would take forever for 2 weeks to pass. On Christmas Eve I got to meet her and bring her home, it was love at first sight for both of us. Now I always say Gazo was the best Christmas present I ever got!!!

2nd best is the new laptop I'm typing on now I told John he can wrap the empty box and put it under the tree

HAH !! I got my Timneh African Grey, Cloud, for christmas in 06. But the best gift had to be my 05 Mustang (although I have made most of the payments) !!

Christy are you trying to make me feel quilty? It would have been a cool surprise, but I like it better knowing ahead.

JR yes I get my gifts early every year It has been that way since I was in my teens and we would con our Dad into buying us our gifts early because we found something we just had to have. Even when we were little my sister and I would unwrap our presents very carefully after Mom had them hid to see what we got. We must have been good because we never got caught Our theory was if we were disappointed we had time to work on our "we love it smile".
